Saint Peters Basilica was amazing. We could take pictures everywhere except the Sistine Chapel, which is part of the Vatican Museum. We went up onto the roof and the climbed up the dome. 500+ stairs in all. Unforgettable. The church is the largest in the world and can hold 60,000 people.
Stan and I walked across town to St. Peters Square on Christmas morning while the kids slept, still dealing with the time change, and heard part of the Pope's address. Loved the bells ringing all over Rome at different times all day long. It was sunny and warm.
